£2m spa expansion for Lakes hotel
A £2M redevelopment of Rampsbeck Country House Hotel on the shores of Ullswater has been given the go ahead.
The Lake District National Park Authority has granted planning permission for 20 more rooms, including 12 family suites, as well as a 20-metre swimming pool and treatment rooms at the 18th-century property.
The hotel, which stands in 18 acres at Watermillock, was bought by Another Place last year for £2.7m.
It will close in September for the redevelopment and reopen in spring next year. It currently has 19 bedrooms.
Another Place was launched in 2015 and Rampsbeck is the first in its planned chain of six boutique hotels.
