After 29 years of loyal service Mike and Angela Dunbobbin, owners of Appleby Manor, have drained the pool and closed the doors for the last time on the Leisure Suite in preparation for the redevelopment into a brand new spa.
The Hotel has been given the go ahead from local planners for the new spa which will involve an investment of close to £1m.
The spa will consist of five treatment rooms along with a thermal suite, a hydrotherapy pool and a manicure/pedicure room. There will also be outside space with a roof garden, two hot tubs and a fire pit.
The work is scheduled to start work in May and the spa should be open by the end of October.
Mike Dunbobbin, co owner of Appleby Manor said “This is a really exciting time for us, although we have continually invested in the Hotel over the last 15 years, it’s the biggest single investment we’ve ever made. We hope it will not just benefit the Hotel but that it will also benefit the surrounding area with increased visitor numbers.”
