CUMBRIA Tourism is inviting businesses to join a loyalty card scheme for free, as part of its flood recovery work.
The MyCumbria card gives the county's residents discounts and special offers at local attractions, restaurants, cafes, hotels and shops.
Until recently, businesses had to be Cumbria Tourism members to join the scheme, which launched in 2012. However, they are now being offered free MyCumbria membership for one year.
Sam Tollerson, MyCumbria executive, said: "The MyCumbria card scheme is a simple and effective way to market your business and encourage more local trade at a time when we need it the most.
"We have a tried and tested system already in place for you to take advantage of, so if you are interested in promoting your business through MyCumbria then please get in touch today. It’s free to sign up and we can do the marketing and promotion for you."
Key benefits for businesses are said to include:
- helping to promote special offers and boost income during quiet times
- a dedicated web entry for your business on the MyCumbria website
- free social media promotion via MyCumbria’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, advertising new and existing offers
- mentions in member e-newsletters that are sent to more than 4,500 Cumbrian subscribers twice a month.
