Britain's Energy Coast Business Cluster (BECBC) has just signed up its 250th member firm.
Recent applications from Areva UK, Outset Pictures and Revenir Training have taken membership beyond the milestone figure.
Chairman Sean Balmer said: “We’ve been anticipating this for some months.
“What’s worked out brilliantly is that these three most recent members are so different – and representative of the scope and variety of our membership too.
“From sole traders working in business support, through many of the SME engineering and technical companies in the area, to the bigger global nuclear and construction players, they’re all represented in our membership.
“This gives us a strong voice to challenge and champion the role of business in the future of west Cumbria.”
Outset Pictures, a video production company in Carlisle, was the 249th member while energy giant Areva UK was the 250th.
Steve Topping, director of Areva UK’s Westlakes office, said: “We’re keen to leverage BECBC membership to develop Areva’s presence in the region and our network of partners and suppliers.”
Revenir Training, the 251st member, is a relatively recent start-up run by Caroline Neil and Ali Tozer in Ireby. Mr Balmer presented the three businesses with membership certificates last week.
The next BECBC members’ meeting is at Energus, Lillyhall, at 9am on July 1.
