Another Place, the new hotel collection from the team behind Cornwall’s Watergate Bay Hotel, has announced the acquisition of Rampsbeck Hotel on Ullswater in the Lake District.
The 19 bedroom, 4 red-star Rampsbeck Hotel is set in 18 acres of Lake District National Park with a spectacular quarter of a mile lake frontage. Coupled with its stunning location, the hotel has an excellent reputation for exceptional service and fabulous food, already recognised with two AA Rosettes.
The distinct mix of active, social and relaxing hospitality found at Watergate Bay, will lie at the heart of the investment plans for Rampsbeck. Will Ashworth founder of Another Place and Managing Director Watergate Bay Hotel explains: “We are very excited by the opportunity at Rampsbeck. The hotel is in great hands under the guidance of General Manager Alison Mathewson and Head Chef Ben Wilkinson and we are looking forward to building on their work with some of our own ideas, appealing to both current and new visitors – and always staying true to the spirit of Ullswater.
“With summer fast approaching, we have a few immediate plans to build the experience for both guests and those looking for some great local food. Otherwise it is very much business as usual.”
Joining Rampsbeck in the Another Place portfolio will be the Royal William Yard 60-bedroom urban boutique project in Plymouth, currently at development stage. Occupying a Grade 1 former naval victualing building, the hotel is being developed in conjunction with Urban Splash and Plymouth City Council.
