Eden Business Breakfast
The next business breakfast (held jointly by Cumbria Chamber of Commerce and Westmorland and Furness Council) will take place on Friday 9th June at North Lakes Hotel, Penrith with a 7.30am start.
We’re pleased to be joined by representatives from Fibrus and Connecting Cumbria.
Dean Jooste, Director of Stakeholder GB, Fibrus will talk about their plans for major broadband roll out in Cumbria and funding they have available.
Jonathan Harris, Programme Director, Connecting Cumbria will talk about the aims of the Connecting Cumbria programme and the county-wide digital infrastructure strategy that plans to improve both fixed line broadband and mobile infrastructure as well as exploring the benefits of 5G as that technology develops. This will be explained in the context of the importance of digital infrastructure to businesses in Westmorland and Furness to facilitate new ways of working and the criticality of reliable online connectivity with customers.
During the event there will also be an opportunity to learn more about the emerging work of Westmorland and Furness Council as we welcome Cllr Jonathan Brook (Leader), Sam Plum (Chief Executive) and Matt Williams (Senior Manager for Economic Development and Regeneration).
