2030 Strategic framework for international climate and nature action

28 March 2022

On 21 March, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) launched a consultation seeking views on how the UK can encourage international climate and nature action over the next decade.

Defra is looking for views about what the UK should do to help protect people and the environment from the effects of climate change and nature loss.

The consultation asks:

  • what people think are the biggest challenges the UK faces in bringing positive change in international environmental actions
  • how people think we should solve the biggest challenges

The UK's 2030 Strategic Framework on International Climate and Nature Action will define the government's vision for its long-term role in the world tackling climate change and biodiversity loss.

The 2030 Strategic Framework seeks to take an integrated approach to climate change mitigation, adaptation and resilience, and the protection, conservation and restoration of nature.
