Cumbria CVS encourages more people to make a difference ahead of Volunteers’ Week 2022
With the upcoming Platinum Jubilee and Volunteers Week, Cumbria CVS, Shap Parish Council and Shap Community CIO are celebrating and showcasing all the excellent voluntary work that goes on in Shap and appealing for anyone interested in volunteering with local community groups and charities to come along.
The event will be held on Wednesday 1 June 2022, 10am-12noon at Shap Memorial Hall, Main Street Shap, Cumbria, CA10 3NL.
A range of different charities and community groups will be attending to showcase local volunteering opportunities and to celebrate community achievements.
Local people are encouraged to come along and speak directly with these groups to find out how they can volunteer and make a difference in the community.
Cumbria CVS is urging others to do something positive with their spare time by helping make a difference to charities and voluntary organisations in Shap and across Eden.
Organisations attending the event include Shap Community Action Group, Shap Community CIO(The Old Courthouse), Shap Community Enterprise (Second Chance), Shap Local History Society, Shap Memorial Hall, Shap Parish Council, Shap Pre-school Playgroup, 'Shap Today' parish magazine, 106 Bus Partnership, Barnado's, Carer Support Eden, Highlights Rural Touring.
Shap Bowling Club will have an open session on the Bowling Green and Action Ants will be in attendance on the Memorial Park with activities for children aged 3 – 11yrs.
