Guidance on running events safely

30 May 2022

Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has produced guidance for organisers on how to plan, manage and monitor events. It will help make sure workers and the visiting public are not exposed to health and safety risks.

Good planning and organisation is essential to putting on an event that is both safe and enjoyable. Whether you're an organiser, venue owner or volunteer, find out more about your responsibilities.

The Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend will see thousands of beacons, official and unofficial, lit by communities throughout the country to celebrate the milestone. Current weather forecasts suggest the Met Office's Fire Severity Index will highlight areas of the country that fall under a high, very high or potentially exceptional level of risk. As this will coincide with the lighting of the official and unofficial beacons, this could be a cause for concern of wildfire in those areas of higher risk.
