Eden District Council partners with Cumbria Chamber to support local businesses

Thanks to over £10,000 in funding made available by Eden District Council through its Inspiring Eden programme, Cumbria Chamber of Commerce is able to offer businesses in Eden a year's free Chamber membership.

Demand has proved strong but there are still some memberships available. The offer runs until the end of March.

Chamber membership offers many benefits including discounted training and events, access to member services including health care, HR and legal advice lines (access to template documents, policies and letters), Chamber utilities, SWOOP finance finder and roadside assistance.

Suzanne Caldwell, Managing Director of Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, said, "We've been really pleased to partner with Eden District Council to be able to offer free Chamber membership to businesses in the Eden area to not only help them get back on their feet but by also giving access to a tremendous range of services.

"There's never been a better time to be a member of the Chamber, we've been working hard in the background to develop our offer further and providing more benefits than ever before to Chamber members. If you've never been tempted or able to afford membership I'd urge you to get in touch before it's too late. There's so much support on offer not only through membership but our business support programmes."

Cllr Mary Robinson, Portfolio Holder for Economy and Enterprise at Eden District Council, added, "It has been a tough couple of years for many businesses and I am determined that through Inspiring Eden, the Council builds strong collaborations with local business organisations.

"By providing over £10,000 in funding to the Chamber to deliver expert business support and networking opportunities, we hope to unlock the full potential of Eden's businesses: helping to drive economic recovery and prosperity across Eden.

"This offer is open to SMEs and start-up businesses, regardless of sector, right across Eden. Whether you're a farmer looking at diversifying, a fledgling start-up or a business that employs dozens of workers, we want to help you develop and grow your business here in the district."

Partnership working with Eden District Council has also led to full support in Eden again for individuals and businesses through Cumbria Business Growth Hub. Offering 12hrs flexible and tailored support through adviser time, free training or a subsidy (40% up to £4,000). Together the Chamber and District Council are also working on events to bring together the Eden business community.
