Eden District Council sponsors special agricultural category in Cumbria Farm Business Awards 2022

Eden's most Sustainable Agricultural Business category has been specially created by the award organisers this year to recognise excellence within Eden's dynamic and vitally important agriculture sector. 

Nominations have been received over recent months for people and organisations around Eden and the North Pennines who demonstrate a passion for running operations in a sustainable and eco-friendly manner.  Judges will be considering the following areas when assessing nominations:  ability, business acumen, animal welfare and environmental awareness, innovation, sustainability and a "think local" approach to the way they do things.

In addition to this specific Eden focused award, nominations from across Cumbria have been sought for the following categories:

• Best Commercial Farmer
• Best Woman in Agriculture
• Farm Diversification Award
• Best Livestock Farmer
• Best Dairy Farmer
• Best Young Farmer
• Farming Champion
• Cumbria's Farmer of the Year

The awards winners will be announced at a special dinner being held at The Castle Green Hotel, Kendal on Wednesday 7th September 2022.
