Expert guidance and support available for local businesses through new Inspiring Eden programme

Eden District Council is offering local firms the opportunity to access free, confidential one-to-one business support, as part of its new Inspiring Eden programme.

The Council has partnered with expert advisors from Redkite Innovations to deliver the support, and advisors are encouraging business owners to get in touch for an informal discussion to talk through their business’ ​ challenges and opportunities.

The Inspiring Eden programme also gives Eden businesses the opportunity to apply for a twelve-month membership of a business support organisation: with free membership of Cumbria Chamber of Commerce or Federation of Small Businesses or Family Business Network available for qualifying businesses.

An economic recovery group with representatives from Eden District Council, Cumbria County Council, Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership, the Federation of Small Businesses, the Family Business Network, the Cumbria Social Enterprise Network and Red Kite Innovations, has been meeting regularly to help drive forward plans for economic recovery in Eden.

Cllr Mary Robinson, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Economies and Enterprise at Eden District Council, said, “Although these continue to be uncertain times for many businesses, we’re determined that, through Inspiring Eden and our collaboration with business support organisations, we’ll help as many local businesses as possible to survive the current turbulent economic conditions and thrive once more.

“We’re working hard with local and strategic partners, as well as having a number of critical conversations with local businesses, to help understand the current and emerging economic picture to develop and deliver targeted support. We are also working on a range of bespoke support for specific sectors, such as the farming and the wider land-based sectors.”
